WHAT IS TPMS?

TPMS stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. It is an automotive technology designed to monitor the air pressure of tires on vehicles. The TPMS helps ensure that the tires are properly inflated, as underinflated or overinflated tires can lead to safety issues and reduced fuel efficiency.

There are two types of TPMS:

External TPMS: This system uses individual pressure sensors mounted on each tire’s valve stem . These sensors directly measure the air pressure in each tire and transmit the information to the vehicle’s inside Solar monitor. If the pressure & Temperature in any tire falls below or exceeds the recommended level, the TPMS sends a Sound & Display Blinking warning to the Solar Display. These are Universal & Support all Tyres, Tubes & Tubeless. These sensors are Light weight only 8 Grams, so wheel balancing is not Required in External Sensors. External sensor batteries can be replaced and are easily available in watch shops or online stores.


Internal TPMS: Internal Sensors installed inside the tire where the air pressure and temperature is measured by sensors. internal TPMS Installing or replacing the sensors requires professional assistance (Tire Shop), as it involves tire dismounting and resealing. Most of the tire Shops can fit these Sensors. Estimated installing Charges including wheel Balancing vary from city to city 600 to 1200 Rs approx. Additionally, the sensors’ battery life is limited to approx. 4 to 5 years, and if the battery dies, the entire sensor unit typically needs to be replaced.
